My 4 year old daughter does not sleep through the night. She wakes up crying/whining which usually leads to a full on tantrum. It can take up to 45 mins to get her to settle down and sleep a few more hours just to do it again. And then she is difficult to wake for prek in the morning. She naps at school for an hour. She snores very loudly and she doesn't settle for bed very well despite a normal bedtime routine. When she wakes crying, she will not let us hold her but neither will she let us leave the room or she screams louder/harder and it often becomes a tantrum from there. I had concern of sleep apnea, but she has an ENT dr already (she had tubes put in her ears when she was 12 mos) and he has cleared her nose, throat, and said she has minor hearing loss due to fluid from what he thinks is allergies. What can I do? Does it sound like another sleep disorder or could it just be habit now that she can't break??? We have tried everything from ignoring her to rewards if she will lay back down to discipline when she won't do anything but sit and cry. We think she is somewhat awake because she does remember what happened in the morning.
