National Sleep Foundation and The Big Sleep Show

The National Sleep Foundation (NSF) is pleased to announce its acquisition of The Big Sleep Show, the first-ever consumer health event solely devoted to sleep and alertness, which debuted last year in Chicago. In collaboration with NBC television and its popular, regional health event, the Healthy Lifestyle Expo, NSF will launch "The National Sleep Foundation’s Big Sleep Show" at Chicago’s Navy Pier on Saturday-Sunday, March 21-22, 2009.

College Student Sleep Patterns Could Be Detrimental

According to a new study published in the Journal of American College Health, many college students in the U.S. have sleep problems that may impact daily performance, including driving and academics. The study was based on survey data from 313 college students. The results showed that 33 percent of students took longer than 30 minutes to fall asleep, 43 percent woke more than once nightly and 33 percent reported being tired during the day.
