Thank you very much. I really appreciate that. I am a psychologist who has always worked in the mental health field. I took some time off to care for my elderly parents, and during that time, became very interested in psychologists' role in the healthcare system: promoting care for "physical" health problems that integrates attention to mind and body. Sleep medicine seemed like the perfect area to do this, and I am especially interested in providing cognitive-behavioral therapy for insomnia. I have done about 250 hours of continuing education and training, and have decided to start a private practice, but work within sleep centers, if possible. Many thnks Jim for caring to comment on my situation and fr yr help. I see that I should get the sleep study. But I do not know how the study can be done when my sIeep lasts only 2 or 3 hrs.. Maybe they will have their solution. And the time of the night when I finally fall asleep fr that 3 hrs sleep is around 6.00 or 7.00 am..
In the school where i work i Have a 5 year old child who sleeps well all night and still needs another 3 hours in the afternoon. Any suggestions as to why. Mum has three other children who have normal sleep patterns and dad has ADD. and is being treated for it. Both parents are highly intelligent and University graduates.
